In 2005 at the Chair a study
guide «Holidays. Tourism and Travelling» was published. Authors:
L.N.Degtyarenko., L.D. Shcherbakova.
In 2006 study guide «English
Language in Tourism-oriented Sphere» under the editorship of
Candidate in Philology, Docent Y.N. Belitskaya. The study guide is
recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as a
study guide for the students of Higher Educational Establishments.
This work consists of 11 lessons of two difficulty levels
(Elementary and Advanced). Tasks proposed in the manual have an aim
to develop reading, speaking and writing skills. Texts are taken
from English and American periodicals and fictions. The aim of
creation of this manual is to increase and improve language and
extralinguistic knowledge of the students, improve active
vocabulary. All the tasks are connected lexically with the topics
required for the specialists in the Tourism Sphere.
Teachers of
the chair prepare students for passing the DELE test. This test is
designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to
study or work where Spanish is the language of communication
(Cervantes institute, Madrid), and organize extracurricular work of
Club for fans of Spanish language and culture.
The graduates
from DITB who have been studying the Spanish language and have
received the highest scores go to Spain. The internship gives the
students a unique opportunity to
consolidate theoretical knowledge and actual practice in high class hotels and other
tourism companies of Sithes and Valyanova
(Catalonia).
The first language is the base language which was
studied at school (English, German of French), Spanish and Italian
languages are studied from the II semester as the 2nd foreign
language, Arabic, Chinese, Bulgarian and modern Greek languages are
studied from the VI semester as the 3rd foreign language (104
hours).
Teachers of the chair have published 65 works, 18 of
methodological and 47 of scientific character.
In
the last five years 39 works have been published, 11 of
methodological and 28 of scientific character.
